Vision and Purpose

Vision:

"To become a key player in the development of a strong, internationally recognized health industry in the Metro Edmonton region."

Purpose:

To provide our membership and the health industry community; services, programs and support to assist them to grow and build the health industry in the metro Edmonton area..

Strategies:

• To develop an industry wide business plan that will lead to the development of an internationally recognized health industry in Metro Edmonton.
• To work in conjunction with research, government and education to integrate the strengths of each sector to build the health industry.
• To take an industry wide (public and private sector), market-driven, business development approach
• To target and develop significant relationships for liaison and development (domestic and international)
• Involvement in inter-industry initiatives
• Provide programs of substance and high-profile speakers
• Provide an informative Newsletter

Planned Activities for 1999/2000:

Strategic

• Complete the business plan for the Health Industry that will result in an action plan to be implemented and supported by key stakeholders
• Increase the profile of MEHIA in the Metro Edmonton Community
• Continue our program of informative and interesting Breakfast Meetings
• Network with similar groups across Canada
• Continue to provide an industry viewpoint to government and other organizations
